Our Story
-
Mad Flavor began as a bold dream built in the heart of Maine—born from a desire to create food that excites, comforts, and surprises. What started with pastries, sauces, spreads, and ice cream has evolved into an artisanal vegan charcuterie line crafted with the same passion and precision as traditional methods. Our products honor deep technique, daring flavor pairings, and uncompromising ingredient standards. At Mad Flavor, we don't mimic— we reimagine. The result is food that feels familiar, yet tastes deliciously mad.
-
Maine isn't just our home—it's our pantry, our inspiration, and our greatest collaborator. We work hand-in-hand with local farms, makers, and communities to source the highest quality regional ingredients, including wild blueberries from the Passamaquoddy Tribe. By building our products around what Maine naturally does best, we support local economies, shorten supply chains, and celebrate authentic New England terroir. The outcome is food rooted in place, crafted with purpose, and powered by the unmistakable flavors of Maine.
-
Mad Flavor is driven by craft, guided by integrity, and committed to sustainability at every step. We make food the old-world way—slow, intentional, and technique-forward—while building toward a cleaner future. No fillers, no shortcuts, no artificial compromises. Our packaging choices, ingredient sourcing, and production methods are designed to respect the planet, reduce waste, and preserve freshness naturally. For us, sustainability isn't a trend—it's the craft of making better food for the world we all share.
-
Chef & Founder Klajdi Plaku built Mad Flavor with a simple rule: make it exceptional or don't make it at all. Trained in classic culinary discipline and driven by creative rebellion, Klajdi leads every recipe, process, and product vision with a chef's intuition and a founder's resilience. His mission is to bring true artisan technique into the vegan space—rooted in culture, craft, and community. At Mad Flavor, his role is more than leadership—it's a daily pursuit of flavor innovation, quality evolution, and delicious disruption.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We ship all perishable products using priority 2-day or overnight cold-chain services (UPS or FedEx) to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Each order is packed with insulated liners, gel ice packs, absorbent padding, and sturdy corrugated boxes, plus branded protective materials. It costs more, but it guarantees quality, safety, and freshness from our kitchen in Maine straight to your door.
-
We ship Monday through Wednesday only to avoid weekend delays in transit. Orders placed after Wednesday will be prepared and shipped the following week. You will always receive tracking updates and a delivery notification once your package is on the way.
-
Due to the perishable nature of our products, we do not accept returns. However, if your order arrives damaged or compromised, we will gladly offer a replacement or refund after reviewing your claim. Please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with photos so we can make it right.
-
Our cheeses and salami must be refrigerated immediately upon arrival. Unopened vacuum-sealed products will stay fresh for weeks depending on the item. Once opened, we recommend storing cheeses in parchment or wax paper inside an airtight container and consuming within 5–7 days for the best flavor and texture.
-
All Mad Flavor products are 100% vegan, made without artificial additives, fillers, or preservatives (unless naturally derived like ascorbic acid). Some items contain tree nuts, wheat, or soy, which are always clearly listed on each product page. We encourage you to review ingredients before purchasing if you have allergies.
-
Yes! Our cheeses and salami can be frozen to extend shelf life. For best results: Freeze in original vacuum-sealed packaging and thaw slowly in the refrigerator for 24 hours before enjoying. Freezing may slightly affect texture, but the flavor and quality remain intact.
-
We craft our cheeses and salami using traditional Old-World methods and premium local Maine ingredients. No shortcuts, no fillers, no artificial binders — just real food, bold flavor, and a respect for craft. Every batch is hand-made by a trained chef, built on sustainability, seasonality, and authenticity. We don't imitate flavor — we push it to its limits. That's the Mad Flavor way.
